I'm in the market for a 3:1 Right Angle Gearbox for a Scratch Built PTO Powered Attachment I'm building.... I suppose a 2.5:1 would be fine...
Thanks

That would be correct Scotty...
Doesnt need to be EXACTLY 3:1....but in the ballpark, realistically anything from 2.5:1 thru 3:1 would be acceptable for my application.

Thanks for the ideas on the Post hole digger units, BUT....the output shafts are a little odd and hard to deal with, in the perfect world, I'd like 1 3/8" 6 Spline Input and 1 3/8" Smooth/Keyed Output...

If it was for my mill ,id call WEBSTER ENGINEERING IN LEWISTON,or another one is a place called LANE supply. Not sure of the location ,but its also in MAINE.Something that sounds primitive ,but works well..we sometimes use a truck transmition for gear reduction,it gives you choices of the speed you want ,just by shifting to proper gear. They have an oil resevour just like a simple gear box.If you had an old pick up with a 4 speed youd be good to go.They are not that large when you remove it from the clutch assembly.

I have a vacuum tank truck for my septic busines. Most of the trucks now use right angle gear boxes to the vacuum pump. Not sure of gear ratio. Mine also has a rubber gear that has internal and external teeth, acts like a shear pin on a snow blower, in case pump freezes and stops, just the rubber gear will be lost. I replace rubber gears once a year just from wear. plowking

Sounds like bush hog gear boxes.
Pricy things! (mainly due to power rating)

What is the build? We are all interested!
