I just have a problem with people outright lying to unsuspecting buyers. As an old farmer I know enough about tractors to know the condition and approximate age of a tractor. But new buyers are left hanging out there for the vultures. I can see missing the age by a year or two, but a decade or two is outright fraud /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hey scrinch... that's pretty good.. In a way I do feel like I owe it to other new tractor owners to warn against the false claims of some of (if not all) recon dealers/sellers. I bought mine thinking I would be ahead of the game, save time since it had been rebuilt. Sadly that is not the case. I've lost a lot more time and worry than I saved in the cost of the re-con... I don't post much outside of TBN so this is where I've spent my energy "talking" about the negatives of buying a re-con. And, I'm getting a bit tired of the whole conversation in general...

I can only *imagine* what the dealers here must put up with regarding these re-cons...!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

arthr31,

I hope you never tire about posts and updates regarding your Yanmar. You are of such a small minority that owns, repairs and reports truths about your tractor, and remains a member on this forum. Some just leave and let us wonder what ever happened to...???

Personally I enjoy your posts, and not because they are in support of, or against the reconditioned tractors, but because you have suffered through all the trials and tribulations of repairs and still managed to keep it going and re-do most everything that was reported to have been done in the 'reconditioning' process. Most would have cut their losses long ago, but you strike me as a man that will not surrender easily.

I just emailed a tractor dealer on ebay selling a 1990 YM1500. I told him the years those were produced and he called me a liar. He said he had a yard full of 2 cylinder Yanmars that were built in the 90's.
