rim guard, anti-freeze, or ww fluid

I looked at the MSDS on WW fluid and I can't get the link to work.
If you go to this address and just give an e-mail address you can search for MSDS sheets (material saftey data sheet) MSDS sheets

Well, I decided to use automotive antifreeze. It was not to difficult to get used stuff for free and upon testing, it was good for -40 so put it in tonight. All I got was 12 gallons or so and the tire seemed to take almost all of it, I would say about 11 gallons or better. I used the TSC adapter and a drill pump. It took me about 1 1/2 hours with set up to fill one tire. The drill pump I have is difficult to get primed and very slow once it starts. I am going to look for a better one and do the other side as soon as I find more AF. Any one know of a good drill pump and where to get it? Also, my drill is only 550 rpm, is that the issue? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Bear in mind you picked a very toxic solution. 1 teaspoon of anti-freeze will kill a large dog or a child. The same amount will make an adult very ill and without very fast treatment likely would induce a coma. Automotive anti-freeze is sweet smelling, very attractive to animals and children. Should you ever spring a leak, even a small one, you may have a very serious issue and a very dangerous mess.

I got a cheap Under $20 boat bilge pump (12V)from Wmart when I loaded the 870 tires with WW fluid. Dropped pump in a five gal. bucket and kept it full dumping gallon at a time. Took under half hour per tire as I recall. Had to stop periodically to bleed air off. To speak to another area, after a couple of years I cleaned off a valve stem while plowing and had to remove fluid to replace the tube. The rim looked fine, that is, no corrosion was evident. I refilled it and as far as I know it is still fine. 11.2x24 R1 took around 30 gal/tire over the top of the rim.

I was wondering if one of those would work! I was afraid of burning up the motor as I didn't think they would pump much pressure against resistance. I also see as I look at specs on the net (I don't have the packaging or paperwork on my little pump), that the min recommended rpm is around 1200 and ideal would be 2000-3000 rpm. My drill is probably too slow.

I tried a different drill today that goes up to 3000 rpm. I ran it around 2000 and it was excellent. The pump primed itself nicely and seemed to pump faster also. Took less than 3 min. per gallon, including stopping to bleed air a couple times.
Oh, with my drill pump, I don't need to bleed the air at the valve. I just stop pumping and within a few seconds, the air will push back through the pump and the tire will bleed off the air pressure.
