Anybody know who sells Rimguard and will ship? Or possibly who sells Rimguard in my area (Portland, Oregon area)?

I've tried calling Rimguard and I get a recorder ... and the email they have listed on their website gets kicked back to me.

I'm not totally set on Rimguard, I'm just not too excited about buying 74 one gallon bottles of washer fluid or antifreeze, and I thought maybe Rimguard comes in larger containers. I'm not opposed to calcium, just don't want to mess with putting tubes in.

My local tire store will pump it for cheap (at my house), but I have to come up with the liquid. Any thoughts on how to stay away from messing with one gallon containers?

You could buy a 55 gallon barrel of methanol. That is the main ingredient in most if not all wash fluid.

Have you asked your Deere dealer (or another nearby)? Seems like quite a few Deere dealers were starting to carry Rimguard. That's what's in mine, it's all my dealer uses now.

I've talked to two local JD dealers and one farm supply store about Rimguard and they didn't know what I was talking about. Everybody seems to use local tire shops to fill with calcium. Maybe it hasn't caught on out here in the West ...

R.E. the methanol: I've found a supplier for a 55 gal drum. $1.95 a gal plus $20 deposit. Anyone know what the water to alcohol mix ratio is for a -45 below freeze point? How about -35?

I'd ask around at the farm tire shops in your area. I'm sure someone carries it. I'd definitely recommend it.

Over here in No. Idaho Les Schwab carries the Rimguard. Do you have Les Schwab in your area? Maybe check with them.

I spent weeks tracking down rim guard dealers. I finally got ahold of a NY distributor. I told them that I needed a dealer name. Turned out there was nobody nearby or that would install at my farm. At the request of the distributor, I spoke with a local tire dealer who said he was interested in the product. Both the tire dealer and I contacted the distributor, but our calls were never returned. Long story short...got calcium.

Maka,

Thanks for the idea on Les Schwab. I called them and their store in McMinnville carries Rimguard, but apparently they don't sell just the product, they have to load it into their pumper and bring it out.

They charge $3 per gallon, plus the service fee to come out and do it. It actually works out to be slightly cheaper than calcium because of the cost of buying the tubes. They said $42 PER TUBE, just for the tube! Apparently the price of fuel is pushing these prices higher.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
