Thank you. My whole thought process is you shouldn't have worried he would report you, he should have been worried you would have reported him.

You tried to do good, and got dealt a crazy.

From your original description of events, I would have probably done the same thing as you.

I'm sorry, I'm just not at the point that I'm so scared of stupid people that I wouldn't use my car horn to alert people to a possible dangerous situation. If someone is that stupid and comes unglued by someone else beeping their car horn, let God deal with him and the situation and at least know you tried.

You can't save people from themselves.

Oh I think most of us agree with letting God deal with those kind of people,us to,,,,,,,,,,,but not today.

So I called the cops and told the above story. They said they'd have to witness it to do anything about it. So I said hey, trust me. Just sit at X location between 7:45-7:50 and you'll witness it.

Two days later they had her pulled over. And a few days later they had her pulled over again. I never saw her again after that. She probably changed her route.

Someone that entitled might very well have decided to argue with the officer and it escalated with her getting arrested which might have cost her her job.

I have seen similar behavior except the woman would get into a right turn lane and then turn left. I would see other people do this so they would not have to wait in line, but there was one woman who I saw do this several times.

So ya'll have been startled and annoyed by people blowing horns? Ever had anything worse than this happen to you? Tired and sleepy semi driver headed home in wee morning hours after a long trip had to pull over and lean on the wheel for a little sleep. A prankster co-worker 45 minutes behind saw him, turned around, eased up nose to nose,turned his dome lights on and layed on the horn. Poor guy said he was certain his time on earth had ended.

It was not a horn but a jack a...ss on a Harley with loud pipes. I was doing the speed limit and the a...s hole had to pass me. Fine. However, that a...ss hole down shifted which made the pipes scream, right as he got next to me. He did this on purpose. Extremely loud and scared the s...t out of my young child who was sleeping in a car seat. The kid woke up screaming.

The sound of Harley engines is unmistakable even with the quietest mufflers available and I absolutely adore it. Installing excessively loud exhausts is profane.
But to the point of your complaint about showing out and startling folks. Truckers needlessly jake braking should be fined even if no signs forbid it.

Yes. A properly used Jake is part of driving a truck. Yet when somebody uses it to slow, then just keeps hitting the throttle to listen to the noise, he is creating a public nuisance.
The same can be said of Harleys, or any other bike/auto with straight pipes.
I had a kid pull up beside me years ago as I was speeding up after slowing for a car to turn. He stayed by my open window tapping the throttle while his GF on back laughed, as I worked up through the gears on my Ranger. About the time the straight stretch ended he decided to finish passing… then I watched that grin come off his face as he realized that while that little 350 Honda was loud, it also didn’t have power enough for him to be a d-head. I wasn’t racing or playing games, I had just accelerated normally while he was being a jerk.

When 55 was the National law, and I had to drive West Coast to the East Coast, through the vast nothingness that is the South West, I would have welcomed an A-10 strafing the side of the road as a reminder to slow down. However A-10s don't have .50 Cal guns....

When 55 was the law, <puke> I would travel frequently on the Florida Turnpike going to/from Orlando and South East Florida. There is nothing out there but scrub and the road is flat and mostly straight. Poking along at 55 was a mind killer.

Until one day....

I saw a flight of four A-10s "attacking" a Cypress head. One A10 would make a strafing run on the Cyrpress head, climb and turn away to get back in line, while another A10 would take it's turn attacking.

The only time I liked the 55 mph speed limit since it allowed me to watch the A10s at work/play. Figured they had flown down from Myrtle Beach to attack the enemy in that there Cypress head.

Last real road rage was about 2 years ago. I had to brake hard for some cars ahead of me that had for some reason come to a full stop on a 55 MPH Road. The guy in back of me, which I'm assuming was tailgating, didn't see what I saw and why I braked, and for some reason, after the compression of cars, started again, he drove along side of me, gave the finger, and then attempted to ram the side of my car, which I barely avoided. I think he really was attempting to hit my car as in a collision to send me off the road.
I have no idea why this person did this. I have no political stickers on my car. I still can't understand it.

There is no understanding these people.

A few years prior to the lock down we had had a bit of winter weather. I drove to work but the roads were dry and clear. Once stretch of road is a two land rural highway that goes 10-15 miles and I got behind a guy who does not know how to drive or use cruise control. The speed limit is 55 mph but he was going 45 to maybe 60 mph. I just set the cruise control to 55 mph but I would have to slow down because this guy could not drive a constant speed which is really annoying. This part of the drive is usually relaxing.

We eventually get to an intersection and of course he goes the way I have to go. It is still sorta a rural road but it is dry as a bone and his speed is varying all over the place. I try to drive with a 3-4 second gap between me and other vehicles but I was giving this guy 6-8 seconds. All of the sudden, he slammed on the brakes and almost came to a complete stop in a 45 mph speed zone. As he did this I threw up a hand, and no I did not give him the finger. The gesture was a What the ....... are you doing gesture.

Of course this idiot gave me the finger....

WHY did this moron slam on the brakes?

The road had been patched and there was a strip of fresh, dark black pavement going across the road which he mistook for ice. Did I mention the roads were DRY.

Now, I am understanding in that some drivers are elderly and loosing their ability to drive. I see them frequently on this road but they usually drive a constant, or near constant speed 5-10 mph under the limit. This guy was up there in years so I could give him a pass on his driving, until he flipped me off for his horrible driving.

I used to live in South East Florida. It is a jungle down there and I doubt it has improved since I left...

One of the road rage incidents down there always stuck with me. Two guys in two cars, an hour or so before sunrise and well before the traffic built up, much less got bad, got into a road rage incident on one of the major east/west roads. There was no traffic at all that time of the morning. They then got on I95 and continued their Drive of Angst before exiting on another major east/west road. On the exit ramp they both stopped their cars and got out to have a fight. A knife fight. One of them got stabbed to death for a road rage incident.

Ah-haa so THAT was you back there riding my bumper,and what is it you call what you were doing,,,,drafting? Well in case you are interested I called you several names,none of them was drafter.

Lol, no, that wasn't me. I don't ride anyone's tail just for the fun of it, or to bully anyone out of my way. Don't get the road rage boilin' up in ya!

You probably haven't done rush hour highway driving in Michigan before. Aside from a few choke points, we have generally enough highway capacity for high speed commuting, but it's kind of like a drag race between a thousand people at once. If you leave more than 2 or 3 car lengths in front of you, you are getting passed on the right as soon as it's feasible by the guy behind you. So defensive driving actually means staying in the drafting wake of the car ahead of you and avoiding this unsafe practice.

It's honestly amazing that we don't have more multi vehicle pileups from this practice, but most everyone is pretty good at it. My mentality is to get where I'm going as quick as I safely can - I tend to be one of the guys looking further ahead and coasting strategically at times, to help everyone avoid the accordion panic stops.

Zipper and roundabouts common in Europe.

Drivers must know about zipper because I was amazed how everyone ques and seamlessly merges.

We call it an Alternate Merge. Most people are good about it.

The circle/roundabouts and 4 way stops are a different subject. Many people are clueless re: who has right of way and/or hesitant about going. And the 4 way stops screw up people's concept of ROW at a regular 2 way stop.
