Rock garden, little tractor that could...

.....
-Now the rock was in the bucket but the bucket about a foot or two off the ground
-I could now back away with the rock in the bucket.

Not ideal but it worked.

Wow, Jimmy, sounds pretty rough on the machine! My general rule is that if my loader can't curl it, or pick it up, it shouldn't be carried around in the bucket while driving. Though... I've broken that rule a couple times also.

What you see of the rock is what it is... it came out of our septic field. A 4x4 full size backhoe had trouble pushing it. I should have been standing next to it, it's 5.5 feet tall. Next time up there I'll get a better photo of it.

Granted my tractor is pretty small but it went into relief - push/pull/lift/curl.

Holy smokes that is huge. I guess it's stayin'!

Ya, it was way over the line. The funny part is I had to drive about a quarter mile with it and cross a highway. The darn rock fell out on the highway, and I had to scoot it along the asphalt for about 70' to repeat the pickup process at an embankment. Not my brightest move.

Thanks for asking.... Well, My wife has been up to the farm for 4 straight weekends, me? not so much. I have to work my day job, first year that I did not drive a tractor to plant my test plots. Cotton research mainly but it sucked since I did not (could not) drive the tractor. The research station got new JD tractors with computers... no longer do you press a button to engage a hydraulic control vacuum system, You have to work a computer screen... Screw progress.

I will get photos but we are not planning to go up until the 4th (although, I really want to go by myself next weekend)... The rock garden is one of those projects that will take months to finish ie. low priority (had to plant tomatoes, peppers and other veggies first).

Here's a photo of our research planter that is GPS guided, $150K and not worth a crap... Sorry, I'm old school and don't like this new crap.

I will post photos soon, the planting are not complete but we are happy with the rock placement! Teg/Dan

My best crop is stone. Comes up every spring, and I don't even need to set seed.

Ahh, life in New England
