Well, if I was picking them up to sell them.....they wouldn't be able to afford them. ;)

Maybe you can find an old dirt scoop cheap, make the attatched changes, and you'll be "rockin' round the clock".

So do you think that will work for you. Looks like a simple enough rig, but where you gonna stack all them rocks? Maybe you could ship them to Eddie and he could use them in his rv park.

There is a farm about 10 miles from my place in Mid Michigan that has more rocks than I have ever seen in one place. This guy has sold over ten tractor trailer loads and has not made a small dent in the rock amount. Don't know who bought the rock or how much was paid.
He has ruined three disks trying to plant crops. The rocks are not very large, most are basket ball size or smaller with a few boulder sizes mixed in.
I like the idea of shipping the rocks to Eddie, looks like he could use a few.

Without buying a new impliment I'm always forced to use what I have. Use your landscape rake by removing every other tine or remove two leave one and so on, depending on the size of the rocks that you need to get rid of. Angle the rake and make a bunch of passes creating narrow rows of rock pile.

hear that Eddie? rocks are yours for the taking. all you have to do is come collect them, carry them off, and I'll cut you a break on price since you are a TBNer...deal of the century?

the rock scoop is great. I'm thinking about how to widen it's mouth/intake, and how to attain sifting of dirt without weakening the floor. posibly welding on the teeth from a box blade, or something like that, so it ends up being like a comb for lice, just a bigger scale.

I recall seeing something on the Discovery channel about quartz rocks and cosmic energy. I also had a very strange female working for me once that had crystals all around her space to channel good vibes and cosmic energy in. Evidentually the new age folks have a great love for quartz.

You might consider advertising your quartz in some new age publications. I expect the hippies will come and take it off your hands. Ashville, NC seems to have done it.....Asheville Magazine

"Asheville is a richly spiritual and metaphysical place, maybe because it's surrounded by mountains enjoying heavenly views, and angelic cloud forms, or it could be the huge amount of quartz in the ground (more than a trillion tons!)...or maybe, as legend says, it's the energy that the Atlantian and Lemurian scientists implanted here after their civilization fell into the sea!"

About thirty miles from where I live near Tahlequah Oklahoma there is a "compound like" community that also worships crystals. Very interesting people.

these people you speak of, that worship quartz like a god, I wonder if they have a website, an online community of quartz seekers, and maybe I could go there and actually be important!

I could be 'quartz guy' If I were more enterprising, I'd find a way to make money off all this stuff. when you crush it, it looks like crushed ice. it might make a good road base. oh, I don't know, I'll probably pile it up and burn it.

Thanks, I'd love to have them!!!! I've found one good sized rock on my place so far and a dozen or so fist sized ones. All the rest are pebble sized and sort of mixed in with the clay or in veins of iron ore.

Our rocks are a muddy red color and not very attractive. Kind of ugly really. hahaha

Yes sir, I'd sure love to have a couple hundred tons of some pretty lookng rocks!!!!

Andrew, the scoop shown is the same principle as the box I built, except I travelled backwards into the windrow. I had 2 inch gaps between the round bars of the floor, and still held up too much soil to go and just pick them up. They had to be windrowed first, so that at least the upper part of the windrow was just rocks and no soil. Unless you use a different design and either shake the box/scoop so that the small stuff is shaken out, or use a conveyor (don't know if you have potato harvesters over there that scoop out the drill and then let the soil fall through gaps) you are unlikely to get enough separation of soil and rocks. Taking away whatever topsoil you have is a definite no-no. Old McDonald.
