Good news, sounds like you got lucky!
Good news, sounds like you got lucky!
Just out of curiosity (and not wanting to start a debate), did you have your ROPS up and/or seat belt on? If so, did either make a difference?
A bit of an 'aside' (and welcome to 'tombodett' from Downunder), I was on Oberon Class diesel boats ['O' Boats] for awhile... heaps of fun <sarcasm> keeping the banks of batteries in top form.
As the USN boats were/are nukes, I take it that your banks were for back-up?
Why is that? I have added acid to cell when the specific gravity was low after a charge. You just need to ensure that what you are adding is the same specific gravity as the other cells. Of course we had big cells on the submarine and 126 of them..
No the rops weren't up. I was in some pretty hairy timber so they would have been in the way a lot. And no seat belt either. I am so glad I didn't have it on. As I am 6'5" and would have had my little guts smashed out because I would not have been able to jump. And just for the record I leave my rops folded 98% of the time. Unless I'm in a situation where I know there is a chance of a roll over.
The safety switch didn't shutdown the tractor? The tractor rolled to the left I fell/jumped down hill. The right rop bar smashed my right shoulder and I banged the outside of my left leg on the ground. I was off the ground in less then 5 seconds and had the tractor shut down in less then 10. I was shaking for about 30 min.
