I've asked him which exact model it is. Will post when I find out.

The second valve is for the back. The grapple "kit" comes with everything required for hook up and does not use the 1 rear remote that the Mahindra 5035 comes with. So the $3,995 includes the grapple, whatever remotes the kit comes with, and hooking it all up. That $910 price is for a second rear remote installed.

Still not sure if I really need (the expense of) an extra rear remote. Guess it would save from manually adjusting a boxblade, but setting all that up will sure add extra $$$ pain. Tough call.

Then it's the Industrial tires I will get. Might get a little "interesting" in the deep mud during those times of year (like right now). Overall these will do less damage to the pastures.

On a side note, the New Holland guy has offered a T4030 PS (75HP) for almost the same price as this little Mahindra, minus the grapple & boxblade. Already being over my initial budget, this makes it tempting to go with the much more powerful beast. Waiting to hear back what kind of grapple he has and just how good a deal he can make on it. Only downside is I would need to brush up on shifting, not required with HST. Plus, my body doesn't heal like it once did and ease of use is becoming more and more appealing these days. Still leaning towards the Mahindra.

Even with the valve, the dealer is $1000 high IMO. There is just no reason for you to be spending 3 grand on a grapple for the work that you will be doing with it. A $3000 grapple is one that gets used for demo work with concrete and re bar. And as far as I can tell, all the Long grapples have to pick up stuff, there is no bottom to lay stuff on. That's fine if that is what a person needs of wants, but not the best design IMO for what you are going to be doing.

So if you were to add in the cost of the grapple and box blade, then the New Holland is $4-5k higher? So it is more tractor for more money, make sense, you could do the same thing with a bigger Mahindra also.

Just my opinion on stuff, good luck with your decisions.

Brian, thanks for the input. I "could" always use such a grapple to demo one old shed here. It is the last of them still missing a roof from tornado night. Keep debating if I want to re-roof it, save the structure and put in a new floor.

Another (major) shed is gradually being crushed by a big tree which is way beyond any utility tractor. Even my neighbor with a decent trackhoe and heavy cables won't attempt it, so there is another chunk of money I'll need to pay a tree removing crew. $1,500 estimate...ouch!

All I really want to do is saddle up a new tractor and get to work on the fun stuff, of which there is plenty.

Just search grappleon TBN. I just bought a Wildkat grapple and have been using it heavily. No complaints. Just don't buy the super heavy duty one like I bought, they are way over built with super heavy duty construction. The light duty grapple would have been just fine.

Get the 5035 coming, as it is all the tractor you need. Do some online shopping and if you have some mechanical ability order a meduim duty grapple and needed valving.

I bought a 4035 this summer and then ordered a grapple from gator. It had to ship to a business and I asked the dealer if I could have it shipped to him and he said sure. I was way busy at work and was stressing as to when I'd have time to set it up and he said he could do it if I wanted him to. Sure, go ahead.
He did a much better job then I ever could have. He welded brackets to hold quick disconnect fittings and drilled and taped holders for the hoses on the loader arms. he even had to replace the fittings because the grapple came with skid steer type fittings. I wanted to use the rear remote instead of a switch on the loader lever and he did a fantastic job. Neat and real easy to change over to the bucket.
I didn't want to think of what he was charging me because I really did not have time to do the job he did.
I waited and waited for the bill and confronted him. "lets see how it works first" he said. Well it works great and I told him so. It's been long enough that I'm convinced this was a freebie. Fantastic service. My tractor has been there now for warranty work and I'm not bothering him at all. Tit for tat.
Dan.
