the ability for dirt to fall out down through the bottom....

Which is precisely what I'm interested in. Th grapple feature is actually somewhat of a bonus for multiple purpose uses...but getting roots and stones out of soil is a primary task I need to do...

I found this in the seach and wondered if any one had any suggestions on this. I have a 1430, 100 hours , if I took a H.L.A. grapple ( weighing 225 lbs) and only use the teeth, top frame and two cylinders and welded it to my Pt 1430 forks ( i'm guessing 125 lbs) would this weigh(350 lbs ) be to much were I would lose my lifting power . The 1430 is rated for 1200 lbs. I guess I would lose 225lbs for the added weight of the grapple attachment. The grapple comes off a skid steer and weighs 400 lbs I am not going to use the bottom frame.

I also have never changed the hydraulic fluid in the 1430 yet . It came with 10/40 in it . Should I also use a better quality hydraulic oil to increase my lifting needs like dexron 3 .
I am looking to move 10' to 20' long firewood logs, 12" to 20" in thickness around loading a landscape trailer. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

You shouldn't have any trouble doing that. This is an 18'x12" that my PT-425 with a PT Grapple is easily handling!

If a log is too heavy for your 1430, consider just cutting the log in half!!

PS: Please post pictures of your fireplace. I've never seen one that takes 20' logs!!

Thank ,I just found out yesterday I cut a huge cherry tree down and moved it with my mini hoe. The log was 22'long and 18" at small end just had to balance it right to move it. Most of my logs are going to the mill. I need a grapple I am looking for a attachment made by www.HORSTWELDING.com I would like to weld it to my forks, it has two pistons. How would that connect to my hydraulics on the pt ? I look at my mini-hoe and other attachments and all the pistons have in and out hyd. lines do you have any ideas I don't know if the horst pistons can hook up to the pt how can you tell?
