Tom, so how much snow did you get? My former boss at work has the same last name as you. hummm? Well the bad weather is over for now, but if it snows much the drive won't be to bad to plow, the road to the pole barn and around it on the other hand,,,,,that might present a real challange. I didn't plow it when I plowed the drive, plowing the gray, brown, and white slush wasn't very much fun so I decided to wait on the road and area around the pole barn, now it's a frozen mess, oh well, it won't be to bad to plow when it warms up. Have a great time with all of that snow!

Got one for ya guys,

I was having a 4000 sf commercial bldg.
renovated, actually just finished it. The
plumber was backfilling a sewage trench
he dug along the back of the building.
He has a Bobcat excavator.

So this guys looking down and trying to
make it all look pretty and heads toward
the building following the drain line when
BOOM! bucket enters the building the hard
way. It made a nice 3' x 3' bird entrance
bucket and all.

Luckily it hit no plumbing or electrical but
it did about $1,500.00 worth of damage just
the same. The operator just covered his
face in his hands and sunk into the seat.

I guess we all have to have 100% awareness
at all times. Heavy machinery kills people
every day. It definitely had my attention.

Just thought I'd share.

All My Best!

( I never remember about the ROPS being over my head until I hear the branches crack. More than once I've had a broken branch end up on my head
Tom )
Have you trimmed these branches of the trees yet?

First thing I did here when I got my tractor is cut the low branches and limbs off all the trees.

Well I'm embarrassed to say I put my newly owned 448 backhoe into the side of my neighbors garage. I was doing some loader work and was backing up not used to the space the 448 takes and BOOM! Right into the side of his garage. What a bummer but also what power these tractors have. WOW. I've learned to be a little more careful now.... The hard way /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Davo,

Right on point. Toys yes but harmless NO. Like you, I have much more respect for heavy equipment of any kind. Let's not forget
trailoring as well. I've seen some horrible accidents involving trailers.

Don't overload, use heavy chain instead of tiedown straps, make
sure your brakes are working properly. Always use safety chains ect...
Common sense stuff. It's those little things that lead to the big problems
down the road (pun not intended).
