Speaking of lights, just an FYI tip, if you happen to be working after dark and hit any type of bee nest, immediately turn of all lights, with the lights on bees will swarm you but as soon as you turn off lights they will return to the nest, even a bright flashlight will bring them out. Had to save the operator of a skid steer working on my property when he panicked and was going to try and run, told him to turn off the lights and stay put. No stings and he safely exited 5 minutes later. There were well over 10k bees in the nest.

I mounted the lights I bought on the web (3 27w lamps for about $30) to angle iron I then bolted to the underside of the ROPS so they are in the corners out of the way. One faces to the rear for backing and BH work.

I mounted lights under canopy for mowing at night. Big mistake. Draws bugs big time. May not be issue in your area. If you do mount lights on the roll bar do put them on seperate switch and fuse so you can cut them off for roading and if bugs become issue.

Eddie, thanks for the tip on the bees. I am very allergic but I'm not much of a night owl. I can't believe I haven't stirred up a nest during the day, mowing and bush hogging.

One thing in our area is Yellowjackets.... They are ground nest builders and if you disturb them they will swarm you and machinery... And they sting!...

I made a set of mounts for my lights. I used 1/8" diamond plate steel and a system where it clamps to the ROPS (so no holes to mount them). I was going to put some expanded steel in front of them but haven't. I can plow right through branches without fear. I don't have a picture of them on my tractor but here's the mounting bracket. I made 3 of them, two facing forward and one facing the rear. I used the power for the rear work light so I put the switch for them by the seat.

Crazyal,

Would you mind posting a pic of the bottom side of the light cover? Specifically, how it clamps to the tractor. These would be beneficial because of the brush/dense woods on my property as well. Thanks.
