I ended up returning the lights I bought at Harbor Fright and ordering the cheapies on Amazon. With magnets, I think I had $27 in the whole project, plus some connectors, wiring, heat shrinks, and tubing.

I bought a cheap 12V splitter at HF, chopped off those receptacles, and wired up the lights so I can plug everything into the 12V outlet on my BX. I can take everything off and have it in a box within less than a minute if I want to mow under trees or whatever. Here's a pic of the splitter. I think it was probably 5 bucks or less at HF.

I would secure the wires to the rops; or if you catch a branch it could rip them off as you drive by.

I mounted a 1"*1" aluminum bar behind the rops with bolted clamps.

I then attached the lights to the aluminum bar on the underside to protect the from tree limbs.

Zero rops drilling... Way more secure than magnets.

For the money, you can't beat these: https://www.amazon.com/d/Automotive...546697564&sr=8-9&keywords=12v+led+flood+light
Brighter, durable, used by many members here including myself, and a very fair price.
I have mine clamped on but if doing it again I would buy some large rare earth magnets and mount directly to the base of these lights. Here's a good thread about magnet mounts: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...ng/348769-magnet-mounted-led-rops-lights.html

I have to agree with you! I used four of these on my tractor. They have been great so far. Two on the back for rear work lights and two on the sides for side lighting, plus a 14" light bar facing forward. This combination gives me a 360 degree view when working on the tractor at night. It works really well.

Here's a couple of pics:

And here a video on how I installed them:

Having the 360 view turns night into day.

I have same brand of lights, similar setup. They work really well. I'm at 1 year mark now, time will tell how they hold up so far so good.
