ROPS need help

Danc,

I'm sure you will be happy with the foldable ROPS. I have a B7610HST with a Woods BH6500 hoe with the foldable ROPS set up and never hit my head.

I grab on to the ROPS when I jump from the front operating seat into the back on the seat for the hoe. I just step on the rear tire grab on the ROPS and swing myself into the back.

Good luck . . .

Hellos all another lurker finally in the mix. Been reading about the BX23 versus BX2230 and the question of different axles etc. From the Kubota parts book I have found the following: for the BX23 and the BX 2230 the main frame has the same part number, the transmission case has the same part number and the rear axles have the same part number. There are additional parts on the BX23 for the subframe and that also changes the rear fender brackets. Another item that has the same part number is the top link bracket, so the ROPS will probably fit between the two models . That is if you could afford to buy it.
Just thought I would research this since I have the Woods BH on my 2230 - have had much chance to use it though - work gets in the way. Fortunately I am vertically challenged (short) so with the standard ROPS on the 2230 I still have reasonable clearance.

I have a B2710 w/BH and rigid ROPS. I called my local dealer and he said the only reason they came out with a foldable ROPS was so you could get your rig into a garage. Said your good to go whether you have a rigid or foldable ROPS?!?!

Now I'm certainly not going to dispute what your dealer told you, but if I were you, I'd do some more checking. I thought the reason was to prevent the operator from getting crushed against the ROPS if a 3-point backhoe was used, and the unit should rise trapping the operator between the ROPS and a control lever he could not move. I can't find it now, but didn't Steve Carver post a story about a young man he knew who was killed for that reason?

The smaller ROPS on the 2230 is the only real PITA
========================
It's more than a PITA .It's a downright dangerous safety risk.
Since to short a ROPS is dangerous on a B tractor it is also just as dangerous on a BX .

My dealer says just the opposite.

My Dealer says just the opposite - so much for the assumption that they know what they are talking about.

Obviously one or the other of these dealers don't know what he's talking about.
