Yes it is true that older tractors had no ROPS. But people died and people started suing and manufactures got tired of paying. So they came up with a safety system that works to save lives if used properly. As a consumer of such a product, you have the right to disable any safety feature on your tractor. But you lose your rights for any compensation should you or any one of your family gets hurt because of your actions. And if you resell your tractor with the safety features disabled or altered, you may very well be held liable for any injury that it may cause. Plus, there is the problem of dealing with the emotional issues knowing that you are responsible for the injury of someone else or someone's child. NO dealer will trade in any tractor that has been altered without first replacing or repairing such alterations at your expense. I guess I have been guilty of saying that I would own my
BX22 for ever. I am now on my 4th Kubota tractor, replacing the
BX22 years ago. Now with that being said, I will admit, I have also removed parts of the ROPS on my mowers. They catch on trees and are an all around pain to mow with them up in the air. However, I have not altered them in anyway. So if you are going to make the decision to remove or alter your ROPS, then choose to remove it, in total, and store it somewhere until the day comes when you sell or trade in the tractor. Then replace it as if nothing was ever done. Then you don't need to worry about what could possibly happen to the next owner.
(Stepping down off my soap box)
To the OP. You will not find any manufacturer that would make a product that would allow you/require you to remove the ROPS. What you could do is to remove the ROPS, then manufacture some short pieces of new iron that would allow you to bolt the lights on and protect them. On the
BX25 you could remove the upper part of the ROPS at the point if folds. Simply remove two bolts. That is what I have done on my
F3680 and a prior ZD326 and ZD21.
