Thanks for the good info - good pictures Jerry! Those photos are in the photos section of the Yahoo group - on my monitor the file names are cut off so theres a few that just say "Yanmar..." one of them is "Yanmar tractors 15 - to 19 hp"
Sure would be nice to get ahold of or get the dimensoins of those plates your talking about roger. And I'll take a close look at my tranny to see what kind of bolts may help support a ROPS. My welder may have a good idea.
Anyone else looking for a ROPS for a 2210D? Seems like someone else was talking about it before the "move" - maybe we could colaborate on a design...

The Hinomoto tractors I have had with fenders like the F-16 have had mounts for ROPS that came up under the fenders. They were flanged off under the fender with bolts going up through the fender. They then could mount the bar on top of the fender using a mating flange.

You have to register with Yahoo to get access to the photos. Watch out for possible spam as a result. Also get ready to be very patient. Yahoo groups are slow as mud. They couldn't be using a 286 server and a 14.4 modem could they. Oh yea there are lots of pop up ads. Of corse its never an ad for anything you want. Jerry posted most of the pictures I remember, above. The guy who fabricated the ROPS in the pictures wrote a good deal about the project.

On some of the Kubotas they cut a hole in the fender for the ROPS to go through.

It might be worth a trip to the John Deere dealer if they have any of the 650,750,850,950 compacts on the lot. You could see how they did it. The 850 has and amazingly heavy duty ROPS and is mounted the way Roger_Scotty mentioned.

Reed,
I am going to adapt a ROPS from a Ford 1320 (Shibaura) to my YM2010 as you described with the Hinomoto. It mounts from the axle, to a flange at the bottom of the inside fender. From there, a corresponding flange will sit on the top of the rear fender for the ROPS to sit on. I measured all of the critical points and fortunately, the Ford ROPS fits very closely and will require little modification.
I suppose that with a little work, many ROPS can be retrofitted to fit another tractor.
Thanks,
Cameron

There are a couple of JDs around town that may be a good example. Any idea what model is most similar to a 2210D? A 750? Cameron - how'd you come on to a ford ROPS?
Good ideas you guys - thanks.

I bought the Ford 1320 for it's loader. It had a blown engine, but a nice loader. I am in the process of fitting it to my YM 2010D. Along the way, I measured the ROPS and fit pretty closely. Additionally, it has a nice seat suspension that I may fit on to it as well. If you are creative and cheap, it is amazing what you can do...

I will be real interested when you get your ROP done as I just purchased a F16d and want to get one on it quick. Have you replaced your tires with some turf tires. I am having a hard time finding some tires and rims that will fit?

I will photograph and post the installation of the loader and the ROPS. First, a thorough cleaning, repairing and painting of all parts to a proper Yanmar color is in order first!
