ROPS

ok to ALL:

I had my JD455 WITHOUT A ROPS AND HAD ZERO PROBLEMS? How does this situation differ???? Anyone? JD STILL sells the FEL to all JD455 ownes (non all-wheel steering).

Again why is this anything new?????

Did the 455 have a FEL or BH? If not, that's a huge difference.

I think the short answer is:

Using the past to predict the future is not a reliable method...

One is just lucky sometimes... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif But luck runs out too...

The two accidents were not my fault. The two morons did not use common sence when turning (a blinker helps) & passing (in a no passing). If they did use common sense I would have not had to buy 2 new bikes. Was I hurt, yes but people get over it. Nothing major.

A ROPS in a BH application would make since. There are many tractors out there that are in production JD, MF or NH (small models) that have a FEL without a ROPS…

So I guess TBN people are most into safety then the manufactures?

go back and re-read my 11/08/04 03:23 PM post. ..first paragraph.

First off none that you know...I stated on, a JD455 /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think I know that since I have my BS in ME. Going for a Masters...I know all about what you have stated....Nothing new since it is a 2-year class in ME.

Ps. lets see the math then. Plus a new machine means nothing. It can be new or old. Weight is still weight and length is still length. I guess I can build military and commercial engines but I can't a BX..unreal.

KE and some others do not come in play since basic loads take over. It is basic statics to see if the mass is balanced. It is just length, force, torques or moments. Do you want to bring vibrations into it in case you fart on the seat for harmonic motions on the fluids! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you need to bring K&D into play you have a junk design and are way to close to the edge.

Again JD sells a Loader and I think it is a small NH or MF that sells a small tractor without (NO ROPS) that picks-up like more weight then my BX.

#1 rule for engineers: do not assume anything since it makes you look like an _____. first mistake

#2 have you ever taking statics? if you did you would know why I stated that "none moving".

#3 Well then Lets see the math on how the BX compares to the JD455 in terms to force/length for FEL work??? Since you know K&D tell me the time to flip and the velocity at which it does? Or how about the factor of safety of the FEL or the life cycle?

To close, you people must think your tax $$$ and medical $$$$ only go to roads, schools and your medical etc....hmmmm, what world do you live in because my taxes and medical went up because of the "floaters" out there...My state is not any differant then yours; it effects you if you like it or not. Or if you even know and you can't stop it.

Ps: Are ROPS good, yes, I do not doubt that. But again I do not need a ROPS for mowing a yard or moving a 50 lb bag of corn pellets from my truck to a shed either.

They have there place but in certain applications they are do not needed.
