I just purchased this older 8ft rotary cutter and I was wondering if anyone recognized the brand? It looks like an older Rhino or Servis. It cuts extremely well. Just finished bushhogging about 4 acres of 4-5ft brush. One of the gearboxes is leaking slightly, but overall I am pleased with it. My JD 4720 handles it with relative ease. I will be adding a slip clutch this weekend.

The last pic is another one I saw for sale on another website. They look similar. That one was listed as a Rhino HD8.

Anyone have an idea? I need to order some seals to fix a couple of gearbox leaks. The gear boxes have comer on them. I tried the 00 grease but it is still leaking out.

Wish I could help. My intial reaction is it was used by a state mowing crew or some other government agency. What make me say that is the serial number stenciled on it. It looks like a really heavy duty unit. It looks like some kind of name shows up on the left side. All I can make out is it starts with a R.

Edit, how about an Rhino S8, I did a google and got a hit on Ebay for an owners manual that matches the picture of yours. Here is a link $10 will buy it http://cgi.ebay.com/Rhino-S8-Rotary...34.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301:1|293:2|294:30,

Rhino model S8, probably early '80's to early 90's vintage. HD 8' mower especially popular for commercial use.

Rhino is part of the Alamo Group.
