Rotary mower stalling

PTO inside the tractor is slipping. See my earlier post. It's not the mower or the external shaft. Do you have an independent PTO or a live PTO?

So will adjusting the PTO lever fix this?

Yeah, I saw those threads. I will try that. Thanks!!

How hard is it to replace these clutches if they ever fail?

Most the time you have to split the tractor....in half. It is better to make a simple adjustment.

I tried adjusting the pto clutch linkage...couldn't. The thing is in a very tight spot and I can't even get a wrench on good enough to loosen the jam nut.

I also noticed that if I put the PTO lever halfway...the pto will spin faster and mower wont bog down as easy.

If I engage the pto fully..the pto will be slow and mower will bog down.

I made two videos. You can tell the difference between the half and full engaged pto

Is there any wrench I can use to get in this tight spot?

Maybe a crows foot;
or can you pull a pin or two and drop it out to adjust and then repin it.

I can't even reach the pin. My hands are too big.

I will try a crowsfoot.

Thanks.

That is what I was thinking...a crowsfoot, swivel, long extension, and swivel head ratchet. You think it is metric?

Was able to get whole linkage off, but I can not put the **** small snap ring back on. Lost it. The lever is staying on, so I might leave it as it.

Adjusted everything.

Mower is doing great!

Thanks guys!!
