My Rhino TW72 Rotary Mower
If I have posted this in the wrong site please let me know and I will move it.
With the age of my mower I am concerned with the lower seal leaking. I would hate to have to replace it, first having to remove the blades, stump Jumper, etc Just to get to the lower seal. I have placed 140 wt Gear oil in the Gear head uo to the lower drain plug aprox 5/16 inch dia. I noted the Fill plug aprox セ dia has a vent which does not surprise me, but it appears to require a positive pressure to vent. I cleaned it and it moves freely BUT I can not blow through it with my mouth, as it needs more pressure than that to move off it痴 seat. I am a bit conserned that with this pressure relief plug the lube oil with this positive pressure may just leak past the lower seal. I am thinking about installing a vented plug with a dust cap so no pressure can build up in the gear box. Looking for your opinion and/or advice other than replacing the seal Thanks Bill
