The operator's and parts manual for the TYM T224 54" mower attachment gives no information on gearbox maintenance. There are some videos online in regards to owner's changing the output shaft seal on them, but that is about it. I've read that TYM attachments are made by a company called Root Corp Ltd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of TYM ROOT I did some tinkering on mine today and took some pics that may hopefully be of help to someone.
This pic shows the 14mm fill plug to the top/left and the 10mm brass fitting to the top/right is a spring loaded breather. I removed the fill plug and checked the depth of what smelled like gear oil with a zip tie. It seems like a very thin gear oil. The fill plug bolt had what appeared to be white silicone sealant under the flange. The breather is a small brass pipe plug with a stiff spring loaded pressure relief that only lets pressure out. To me, the spring tension is high, so oil will surely get forced out the shaft seals before the relief would lift. An interesting design none the less.
On the side of the gearbox appears to be a level check plug, with the drain plug right beneath it. Any of these 4 bolts/plugs are simply called bolts or plugs in the parts manual. I also have to assume this box would simply take 75w90 or thicker gear oil. No mention of the lubricant, amount of lubricant or change interval in the manual. Not sure what I'll go with, when I change it. It's a simple pair of bevel gears, with some bearings and seals.
