Just some more options.
The first one should be interesting! The last one most easily tried. The in between ones come in different sises. Pulling uphill may be an issue with the last three.

Dude! I'd love to see a video of that first one in action!

The first one should pull the second and third ones uphill, no problem!

Hadn't though about putting land mines in the driveway. Bet they would clear the ice no problem. Of course finding enough neighbors to come over might prove difficult.

It's not the tractor, I have great chains for it. If I was retired and could take care of the melting snow as it's happening it wouldn't be much of an issue. But working a 12 hour shift means I can't always get out there and deal with it before it becomes a problem. Nobody around here offers gravel with salt. The town buys the two separately and mixes it themselves. I do have a herd sander to put it down with but even that is a lot of work. Just filling the hopper is a workout then the sand likes to freeze inside the hopper (because the temp has dropped). If I could connect up to something and just drag it up and down the driveway and let the tractor do the work then I'll be happy.

Egon those middle two are kind of what I had in mind but just less spikes and with weight above them. The two "wheels" would be spaced further apart to about the tread width of a car.

Looking at that second pic, how about a 45 gallon drum filled with cement, and then driving rebar spikes into the sides before it dries. Should be plenty heavy or a two foot diameter pipe instead.

Great idea- relatively cheap and fairly easy.
