Last night , it started sleeting, then changed to snow so this morning i had 4 0r 5 inches of wet heavy snowy slush on the drive. figure i better get it off, before it froze. then it started raining, but afarid it would nor melt it, and then i would end up with solid ice when it freezes again tonight. so i went out and plowed in the rain. was royal pain in the butt! now it is snowing agin and getting much colder, so i suppose it was prudent to get rid of it.BEING RETIRED IS WONDERFUL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We had the same here although not as much snow. It seems like the wind has really picked up here in the last hour or so.

Frank -- It reached us a few hours later. 20 degrees and blowing wind, big flakes all over the place and about four inches on the ground so far. I came home, drove my Chevy truck right into the Curtis plow, made my power connections and cleared the driveways and road for the first time in the comfort of a heated cab! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Clementine still does a better job of pulling snow away from structures (thanks to that wonderful angled and offset rear blade), but hopefully I'll only have to do that once a week or so, and preferably on a nice day!

We had less than 2 inches when I went to work this AM, came home early mid afternoon in the freezing rain and we still had 2 inches in the drive. Not enough to mess with. My Kubota and blower are ready to go, they've seen no action this winter.

Got to plow 6" today. Would have had more to plow except for rain and sleet for 2 hours this morning.
Didn't even think about plowing until 1:00 pm this afternoon.

HEY FRANK....

Went out at 6 am this morning to clear the driveway so my wife could go shopping, left for my part time job at 6:30, drove 30 mph for most of the way (45 miles) and then worked a straight ten hour day. Drove home at 45 mph in the dark and the blasted driveway had drifted over a foot high in most of it. Got out the ATV and spent half an hour roaring around and pushing the drifts back, froze my face into a grin and it stayed on as I went in the house to greet my wife.

She asked, what are you smiling about....?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I told her, I'M RETIRED...so I don't have to work on days like this unless I WANT TO. There is a big difference between HAVING to go to work and WANTING to go to work. When I put in a long day there, it makes me appreciate retirement even more.

TOMORROW--I want to plow snow.

Yes, it certainly was a wet, sloppy mess plowing. The ground was not froze here, so it required a fine touch not to gouge the driveway. Oh, to be retired!! Sounds like fun, I get to practice on days like this (snow day for a school teacher like me.)

I can distinctly remember wanting to go to work because I had to go to work! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
