Rounded off drain plug

For years, I've heard that water swirls in opposite directions in the two hemispheres. Recently, someone said that was incorrect. I've never paid enough attention to know which way it swirls anyway.

Weather patterns, yes. The direction of the wind for a Low or High 'swirl' the opposite way above/below the equator. Which would effect surface swell/wave motion.

Water going down the drain, not so much.

Nah, made sure to go with finger tight, then a quarter turn by wrench.

You only get one Kano Plug in life. For me, the experience 40 years ago was so painful and difficult I never overtightened another one. And if I did come across a stuck plug I had the street smarts to get it out. We all have had our Kando Plug but thankfully it seems to be one and done.

The most difficult plugs to remove seem to be on the Fords of that era. They just get stuck. As well, I think it was the earlier Fords that had a plug with a stubby male end that was poorly formed and required an adjustable wrench that kept slipping and rounding off the corners. My lesson was tied to one of those.

Just had a bloke from Victoria rescued after 10 days being lost/stuck, chest-deep snow, in the Tasmanian highlands. He was an experienced bushwalker. He lost his backpack (with his EPIRB and food)... anyway, he managed to get back to his tent and stayed put until finally spotted by a rescue helicopter.

A few other bushwalkers in the Cradle Mountain area got caught by the snow too. They 'road it out' in one of the many 'huts' that are situated along popular walking tracks.

Oh yeah... Tassie gets snow, however it's usually above the 600-900 metre range. The rest of us get the odd frost.

Down here in NZ we have been known to have snow. Where I am we once had a dusting on the hills behind me that lasted for a whole day-n-a-half. Further down South there are a number of sky fields. there is also the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground : World leading winter testing facility) where car manufacturers bring their new models for secret winter testing. Mazda have just been here for 6 weeks and Tesla before that. I understand that a lot of other major manufacturers use these facilities.
