once again a thread can prove beyond any doubt that there is nothing one can do about getting older but immaturity is immortal...!

Kando is going to run us up to 990 and then fix the plug just to get us back

We could easily find ways to make up the last 10 posts. ;)

There will be more than 10 posts telling Kando he removed it the wrong way and should put it back and take it out to prove MY way is better.:confused3:

Okay I am joining in the madness... have been following this thread since near beginning wondering why a clean sharp (new) pipe wrench hasn't finished this job many moons ago. I am rooting for you, Kando... please end this saga!

Given the small length and diameter of what's left of the drain plug, I'm not so sure that that 8" wrench with a cheater isn't a better option than a 36" pipe wrench. In any case, the new sharp teeth of a new wrench will be your best hope short of using a welder. In my experience, I've had better luck with smaller pipe wrenches on smaller diameter pipes and larger pipe wrenches on larger diameter pipes.

It might feel more manly to go all caveman all the time, but sometimes finesses is more important than size :)

The most important thing is adjusting the jaws for maximum squeeze.

If wrong the sliding jaw will hit the edge of the fixed jaw and quit squeezing.

Growing up and acting all mature is vastly over rated.

I'm having a great time retired and playing with all the toys I couldn't afford 40 years ago.

Yup. Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

Psychologists say the happiest people are those who can lighten up and poke fun at themselves and the things that surround them. Count me in.
