That is beautiful soil.
Here in the south I spray Garlon 4 (triclopyr) for briars and other broadleaf weeds. It doesn't hurt most grasses, but when applied in the fall it kills most blackberry vines, briars, and tree seedlings. I think Remedy and Crossbow have the same active ingredient. I use it to keep the underbrush controlled in hardwood groves. It kills the small hardwood seedlings, but that is okay.
