Routine servicing help, please - 2nd request

After being taken for over $300 for my 1st/last dealer servicing I'm going to do the next one myself and would like to avoid the cost of Kubota-brand products if possible. I own a B7500 HSD and am interesyed in any non-Kubota oil filters, HST filters, fuel filters, and recommended transmission and front axle case fluids/oils. I'm in east central IL where ambient temps run from 0 - 100 F (though I have yet to use the tractor in the winter). Also, any chance of there being non-Kubota air filter elements (both primary and secondary) that would work? Thanks, Mike

If you think your dealer "took" you, go to Tractorsmart.com and check there for pricing on Kubota filters. As far as lubricants go, go ahead and put in a hydraulic oil that substitutes for UDT or preferably Super UDT. Engine oil is simple 15W40. Air filter elements only need changing when dirty and the inner is far less frequent then the outer. Engine oil filter from my Kubota dealer is less then the equivalent from NAPA using their gold filter, about $7. Hydrostatic is perhaps the most costly since it is a high pressure filter and doubtful your going to find it from a third party vendor. Check Amsoil for hydraulic fluid, I have found Kubota oil from about $10/gal for UDT to about $15 for SUDT. I use Chevron AW at about $13/gallon, its all synthetic. Lastly, with a little common sense, these services are easy to do yourself.
