This is just an off the cuff comment for the future but many of these small tractors are already set up for a front mounted PTO shaft to run a hydraulic pump. I'm not sure about Deere but many or most Kubotas have a mount on the front crankshaft and a hole through to the front of the tractor for the shaft. In fact, I mounted a front PTO motor on an M8950 (90+ HP). It ran fine. It used to be common to see front mounted implements run by the front PTO pump.
I'm not sure how recent made stuff is made but my 13? year old L4300 is set up that way. I'd still run a grapple off the back because it's easy and cheaper but just thought I'm mention the above.
