Routing John Deere SCV from rear to grapple

/ Routing John Deere SCV from rear to grapple #31
This is just an off the cuff comment for the future but many of these small tractors are already set up for a front mounted PTO shaft to run a hydraulic pump. I'm not sure about Deere but many or most Kubotas have a mount on the front crankshaft and a hole through to the front of the tractor for the shaft. In fact, I mounted a front PTO motor on an M8950 (90+ HP). It ran fine. It used to be common to see front mounted implements run by the front PTO pump.

I'm not sure how recent made stuff is made but my 13? year old L4300 is set up that way. I'd still run a grapple off the back because it's easy and cheaper but just thought I'm mention the above.

I just looked on Tractor supply and can't find them but they make a bolt on mount to hold the fittings in place.. I had mine loose like yours then saw them smacking the FEL cross bar and marking up the paint.. just a suggestion.. someone on here gave out the part # but I can't seem to find it.. in the store its right by the hose and fitting section..

I could see trying to run a self contained pto pump system if you wanted to run say a Harley rake or something with constant flow and larger demand gpm. That would be a pretty neat set up.

Thanks for the heads up for a bracket at TSC, I will definitely keep an eye out for it.

Now you've done it, TyeT...I'm looking into a grapple and thoughts to connect it to my rear remotes. Everybody ought to have a grapple.

Now the big question is what grapple manufacturer and style are you going with??? Lol

Good luck buddy.

The Kubota version looks great but don't I don't care for the Kubota price. That's where I am so far. I would just pick up brush piles and a few rocks with mine.

Just buy it! You will quickly forget the price.

Zebrafive--Good looking grapple. How did we ever get by without these?

About the only time I take it off is when the loader is removed to brush hog.

I only take the grapple off when I need to put the bucket on for a specific task. The grapple is so useful.

I used JIC fittings for the lines I ran from my rear SCV. NPT only where I had to for the QC fittings, then to a JIC adaptor. NPT has to be tightened really hard, requires sealing goop and even then often leaks. JIC just works. On the loader end I made a bracket to bolt on to existing threaded holes for a cover that holds and protects the hard lines where they run across the torque tube, and used JIC bulkhead fittings there to hold the QCs. I did not understand how much slack the grapple hoses would need. The hoses that came with the grapple were too short for any reasonable mounting position so I had to get longer ones. Eventually I'll build a 3rd function system but I'll reuse the bracket and fittings.
