We pressed our last olives for customers on December 2nd, and.... late that night we got a phone call, my mother died. I knew she was dying and we were working as fast as we coud but I didn't make it in time. Then of course we had to go to her funeral and as so often times happens when you get an emotional shock I got real sick 2 days before we flew back home to France. It's been tough, real tough. My mother was 89 but she had a very bad death, it wrecked me, it hurt me so bad. I won't get into the details but if I never see my 2 sister and brother again I won't miss them. Her death was really hard on me, I'm just now this week coming out of it.

So whereas we finished pressing olives on December 2nd really set up to start bottling and shipping in January, it all got shot to ****. We probably won't ship now until the end of January, and i wanted to ship the beginning of January. It is what it is.

Some good news I got the laboratory test results back on all of our olive oils and the acidity is WAY way low. By European law to be classified as Extra Virgin you have to be 0.8 or lower in Acidity. All our mono varietals tested out under 0.2 and our AOC de Provence tested out at 0.21 so all really really LOW, and that is what you want, low acidity. Then for peroxide the European law is less than 20 parts per mg, I would have to check but I think this is the lowest peroxide I have ever seen in the oil, it's around 7 pmg. I won't get the polyphenol counts until next week but I bet they are going to be pretty high. It costs us a lot of money to get these laboratory tests done and technically I only really need to get it done on the AOC de Provence but I wanted to include a copy of the test results with every tin of olive oil so we paid to have them all tested. I think customers will like getting a lab report on their olive oil so I hope that investment of testing each varietal of olive oil pays off.

I miss all of you and wish you all a belated Happy New year. I was pretty sick & depressed so I kind of missed New Year when it came around.

Sorry for your loss Rox and sorry to hear of a rift with your siblings. I count every day with my mom, who's now 81 and failing, as a blessing. My brother and dad died in 2006 and 2013 and we're all we have left as family (other than my wife and our kids).

I'll be in Paris with the wife and kids in June. Maybe I'll just find a way to carry some back with me if it's sold somewhere locally.

It is tough to lose a parent. My Mom stayed with me 24/7 while Dad went into the nursing home and I was trying to get Mom in there also. Toughest 6 weeks of my life, yet.........I wouldn't trade that time with Mom for anything. She died 3 months after staying with me. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I do understand about siblings running parents down, or not doing what needed to be done. I had to have my brother evicted to sale Mom and Dad's house, as their wish. He said it was due him. The judge said different.

Oh my, Dear Rox. We are (my husband and I) are so very sad about your mother's passing, and all the heartache that you are experiencing. We can choose our friends...not our family--and that can be very troubling to the heart. We will keep you in our prayers. (I have a daily prayer practice.) We are all looking very forward to re-stocking on your magical, wonderful olive oil! (The best I have ever used.) When you first started vending via Amazon, I commented on it. I loved receiving your response, and also love receiving your recipes. Right now, we are on our last 1/2 cup or so, and using sparingly! But being patient. Great things take time and are worth waiting for.
