After reading the other post, I think I have some TD03's and the ones I have are way to big for that engine, I think.

I would verify the compressor and turbine trims before going any further.

How do i do this, " I would verify the compressor and turbine trims before going any further"?

I re-read mickyd's thread. First thing he did was rebuild the turbo. Your's may be loose and not able to compress the air? Can you contact him and aske what he did?

My turbo was new, never used. Good idea to contact Mikeyd.
Thanks, Chuck

I'm only asking questions. It was so long ago that I forgot most of what I had to do. Hope I'm not being a pest.

You did a neat job of plumbing that in. Question, did you see the other guys installation? The reason I ask, when I installed one on the Mustang, they said I should keep the distance from the turbo to the intake as short as possible and try to keep from making 90 degree bends. That's been 30 years ago so it may be all different now. I realize you don't have much choice of how to get there, you very limited.

I'm wondering if he ran the exhaust over to the intake side. :)

Yes i look at the photos of the other installation.

I don't understand your question, "if he ran the exhaust over to the intake side"?

As i understand it's good to keep the distance from the manifold to the trrbo hot inlet short but the cold air out of the turbo is not too critical. In fact a lot of trubos have inner coolers which causing more restrictions.

Yes I do know about keeping the exhaust hot. That is why you notice I had the exhaust pipes wrapped with insulation on the Mustang. And I agree they run the cold side through inner coolers now. But back then they didn't have intercoolers.
But it seems that every bend you put in causes more turbulance and a drop of pressure. I notice he only has two 90s on the pressure side.

If you seen his installation I would guess you tried to copy it best you could.

I was asking questions more then making suggestions. I'm learning from your work. :)

I should have said mount the turbo on the intake side.

I totally agree but i don't see how the extra bends i have in my setup could cause enough pressure drop to almost cut the pressure in half.

My installlation also has a 8 inch long straight pipe for the hot inlet side with no bends which should help offset any loss on the cold side.

I'm trying to figure out how to get more fuel. I can't get anything from Kubota since they are worried about emision laws.

The pump and injector shops don't seem very familiar with this engine.

Chuck

One question, have you calibrated the pressure gage? It would be sort of funny if your is reading low.

I think extra bends would increase the pressure, not decrease it. The reason you would want to avoid the bends is because it would decrease the volume (or flow).

Have not calibrated the gage, but have tried three different gages.
