Ruger or Glock

I have a cz p-01 over 1000 rounds very nice gun:thumbsup:

Exact same gun. Some new grips (the issued rubber was nice but got slippery for me) and TrueGlo TFX sights and it's the cats meow. This CZ has really impressed me. Only thing I don't like is needing something to push out the pin for field stripping (or is there a trick I don't know about other than using the mag as the instructions state?).

Mine came with this little tool to take the pin out I just leave it in my range bag 0217181801-00.jpg

Hmmm... nothing like that in the box the gun came in. Per the instruction manual, use buttplate of magazine. The one time though only had MecGar mags with no rubbers at the end. Scratched the slide a little. Won't make that same mistake twice.

That's what I love about Sigs and Beretta's. Quickest field strip ever that you can do blindfolded with very little practice.

Got to watch those gun store clerks. They'll tell you how great a Glock is, then tell the next guy that the 7mm-08 makes a good light load in a 7mm Rem Mag.

Go to a range... with 3 to 5 of what you think are your favorite. Work with a friend, blindfold yourself, and reach and grab, pull off mask, acquire target and shoot. Take notes. Repeat... not in order. See what honestly works best for you. This takes the brand out of it. You may want to explain to the range officer what you are doing in advance so he (or she) doesn't think you are being stupid.

I have somewhat of a brand preference based on my experience but I am always wanting to try more.

After lots of trigger time on 1911s, I couldn't shoot a Glock well. I had to overcome the muscle memory and change my hold on the pistol to get a decent result.

That's a rabbit hole unto itself:D

I also can't believe you would post something that would put Glock in a negative light compared to another firearm that wouldn't make the Glock seem like the perfect sidearm!:D

Personally, if someone is new to shooting, needing to pull the trigger prior to field stripping would never be my first choice to begin with.
...

Well, tis a deep subject, but I am not a Glock Fan Boy. I REALLY dislike any firearm that requires a trigger pull to field strip. The trigger should be used for one thing only, making gun go bang. I also liked the M&P's chamber indicator that is missing from the Glock. The first Glock I handled many decades ago had trouble dropping the magazine. The magazine would "disconnect" so to speak but it would stick a bit in the magazine well. The Glock I am using now did this once or twice during qualification but time will tell if it continues. Flip side is that the M&P 45's magazine was 1/16 or 1/32 too short so getting in the last round was a right PITA. Saw one guy slice, and I do mean slice, his hand open when his hand/fingers slipped putting in the last round. Twas pretty ugly.

Trigger pull on both the Glock and M&P where/are pretty good though the Glock pulled to the left badly until we adjusted our trigger finger placement. I would guess that the Glock is/was slightly more accurate than the M&P 45. Maybe. Possibly. If I had a choice, and I don't, I would have stuck with the M&P 45.

Previous posters have also suggested this and I think it is the best thing to do. My wifey has been trying out a variety of handguns and her best shooting is done with the more expensive weapons. Surprise, Surprise. She says that the pistols she is shooting best, fit her hand best. Fit is very important and one really needs to shoot the weapon to see how it all works out.
