Don't we all just love misinformation? The man that took down the church shooter was a retired FBI agent. Really? Where did that come from? He was a deputy Sheriff. Really? Well the truth is the man was not a retired FBI agent. And he was a reserve deputy sheriff in the 80's for 6 years. Yeah, well I was a paid deputy and a reserve in the 70's and early 80's. That was a LONG time ago. The man ran a range and gun training company. He was prepared and competent with a handgun. That much is clear. I think this early misinformation was put out there to sway public opinion. "No ordinary person could have done this". Well this is probably true for the average geek off of street, but he was not a law enforcement personal, was not a retired FBI agent, he was just an ordinary OLD guy that trained himself and probably many others. He is NOT an armed security guard in the sense he is NOT paid by the church, he is just head of the security detail like many other parishioners at that church. He is the head because he probably had the most training and experience, and probably because he held his hand up and said yes. If you noticed the video at least 5 others pulled their weapons, but this OLD guy got there first with the most. From reports of people that knew him on AR15.com the firearm was a Sig 229 in .357Sig.
