Gen went down again this weekend. Left me stranded with no water for my plants. I think I may be able to get it going once again but its prob. on last leg.

Gen portion is fine, its the 13 hp small engine that is worn.

Whats the chance of adapting the gen to my pto of the b 6100e?

I have a second gen just thinking I could put this too good use in a pinch.

Gen spins at 3600 rpm. I know nothing about pto. Never used the pto yet on either of my tractors.

Adapting it isnt my issue. Understanding pto speeds is.

Ill post video later

To spend ny time on a consumer grade genny project, doesn't make sense if you ask me.

Quite a few videos out there of folks who have adapted a PTO generator using appropriate sized pulleys to achieve the proper rotation speed. Have to think there's websites out there that will help determine the appropriate pulley sizing given desired input (PTO) speed and output (Generator) speed.

But....if you're needing a new generator for a commercial application, you may as well look at a PTO generator with a gearbox. Everything's figured out for you, and you don't have to worry about HP loss through belt slippage.

One thing you have in your favor on the B6100 is that it has 3 PTO speeds: 540, 750 and 1000. Which would help you multiplying the RPM for the desired RPM on the generator.

Messicks has a good video on powering generators with tractors:

Actually of all the better generators, used PTO sets are often really cheap. Sometimes even thought of buying them, but I had one, been there done that. To much of a pain, and I don't like a tractor running unattended.

Nobody asked you to spend your time nor your opinion of whether the project was worth commiting any time to

I looked at the h.f engine but its too costly for the project. Would not be a direct bolt in so more time equalls money.

Since I know nothing about pto and still little about tractors I did not know if the pto speed would reach the correct rpm without having the engine rpms up too high.

Sounds like they are not already geared that way. Thanks

I meant "any". In general, you post a question or quandry on public media and you are going to get all kinds of ideas.

I did not know 1000 rpm top shaft speed. Thanks. Ill check out video
