Running portable generator during inclement weather

I like the gen, but prefer how Subaru routed their vent line.

I built a box with removable front panel and vents on each side plus three vents on the back side. 2 1/2 yrs now and though used sparingly, no issues.

Likely true and probably varies considerably with wind direction. Years ago I got a heavy dose of CO while shoveling soybeans in a granary onto an elevator powered by a small gas engine. The engine was outside but the breeze was carrying the fumes into the granary through the doorway. It's nothing to mess with. I don't spend any time in the garage with the generator running in the doorway.

I run my gen in garage door way which i completely open.
I also have my personal CO detector on me anytime I am near running gas engines.
Detector is useless around diesel.

I believe it's because diesel fuel burns off nearly completely even when under full load, thus producing far less CO than a gasser. Possibly not even enough for the personal detector to..... get ready for it.... detect.

I built a small shed with attic vents on both ends and one side and a small vent at the top of the hinged roof. One end is hinged for removal for servicing. It has worked well for several years, even in the summertime.

Shift4020. I have operated a Drager enough times over the past 2+ decades to know that diesels make CO. Most people are also unaware of the red blood cells affinity for CO rather than O2.

Diesel engines produce very little carbon monoxide as they burn the fuel in excess air even at full load, at which point the quantity of fuel injected per cycle is still about 50 percent lean of stoichiometric.
Storm last night which caused power outage, gen has been running for 10 hours now.

Yes Sir, I do understand that. I was simply pointing out that the amount of CO given off from a diesel motor is far less than a gasser. A quick Google search for some specific numbers produced this...

CO released in gasoline motor is roughly 1-2% of its total emissions..... Where a diesel produces ~0.045% of the total emissions.
