I am with State farm. My insurance increase was 50 dollars for the year after installing pellet stove.

Maybe I just have to keep checking with other insurance companies. I believe the stove has more safety features than my elec. central air and heat. Sure has alot more than my fireplace.

Yes , just keep checking with other companies ,as some just don't like any type of stoves , wether its wood or pellet , ask your neigboors wich company they are insured with.
Some companies are better for country situated houses.
It could be the fact that you didn't have insurance for ten years , alot of companies are scared of that.
Umbrella policicies are a good idea for excess liability, they also cover for more
coverages.

Different insurance companies have different quirks. Our home owners insurance charges us $500.00 extra a year because we moved to a place in the country that doesn't have a fire hydrant. They could care less about our pellet stove. Our car insurer called and wanted us to bundle our home owners insurance with them. When they found out we had a certain breed of dog they said they couldn't insure us.
