RX6010C Overheating

I've got a 2012 RX6010C with 330 hours. Problem is it gets hot very easily, even in moderate brush hogging with an 8Ft. Semi-mount BH3008 cutter. Can push the temp. gauge up to red even in 78* weather. I bought an infrared heat gun to measure temp. and when its near the red, shooting on a freeze-plug will be about 230*. This seems dangerously hot to me. I keep the radiator and screens clean and just installed a new 77cm (170*F) thermostat and new hoses and 50/50 coolant. Radiator fan working well and pulls air just fine. Any ideas? I'm beginning to think the little 148.5 cu.in. turbo motor is not up the the task of a tractor this size. Everyone thing else seems OK.

I would check your radiator again as chaff is hard to get it out sometimes.

I have the same tractor as you with right at 300 hours and have put it through the paces pretty good and I have never seen the needle on the gauge while operating anywhere but between the two dots. I have been in hay fields when other tractors are heating up and have to stop and clean out the screens but she stays cool all the time. I agree with the previous post make sure you got all of the stuff out of the radiator. I am interested in knowing what you find just in case it happens to me some day.

Apparently the lower an of the radiator was quite clogged with seeds, etc. I had been removing the screens and blowing things out with a leaf blower but a mechanic came out and used compressed air and an attachment and apparently got alot of stuff out. We'll see if it helps. BTW.......what RPM do you run your RX6010 under a load? Seems they're is not much R below 2100 RPM
