s150 hydraulic leak

machine has around 1500 hrs on it. after using a grapple bucket a bit i noticed fluid coming from the front right foot hole area in front of machine. after searching i found the control valve assembly on right side and noticed a drip from the bolt head under the solenoid so i took it out but all the o rings look good? now i am wondering if the solenoid above is leaking?

Wrap a rag around the solenoid, run it awhile. Look for oil on the rag.

so i pulled the solenoid yesterday to check since i had stuff ulled off anyway.

the 2 smaller o rings on the shaft are good, the big o ring is hard and chipped/nicked and the outside o ring in the recess is loose fitting and nicked.
hopefully dealer has them in stock and they aren't terrible......
i think this is it.

what really shocked me was that none of the treads had any teflon tape or pipe dope on them and only relied on the o rings.....

Teflon tape is a no-no for hydraulics. The threads are not tapered like pipe threads so pipe dope would not work.

The O-Ring fittings are designed for hydraulics. Do not over tighten when installing, just snug and if it leaks, snug a little more.

now to find the new o rings-
i can only find a whole new stem but not replacement seals....

any hydraulic shop, bearing supply can find O rings, we have a local bearing supplier that has found us some odd seals over the years, check the local supply guys out
