I went on installing the OEM Yanmar Block Heater Kit #119E21-95010 but I could not get the plug out using a screwdriver. Instructions call for hitting the inner edge, but the plug is smooth, there is no inner edge that I could see. Did anyone installed this, and if so what was the trick to get this plug out? Thank you for any suggestion.

There are ways to get the plug loose. Plenty of YT vids on the topic.

Attached is the generic Yanmar block heater types and helpful instructions.

Try pounding on the furthest from center to rotate the plug. The last freeze plug I removed I had to punch a hole near the edge, then pry it out.

Thank you! I was tempted to drill a hole in it, and pry it out that way, but this is definitely cleaner approach. I am hoping that I will not push the plug too far inside while doing it...

I would NOT drill it. You're practically guaranteed to get shavings in the coolant passages. The plug will eventually rotate... You couldn't push it through the holes unless you really tried.

I recently found out one of my wranglers had a block heater installed as a dealer option. Completely useless item on a California car. I discovered it when it blew out on the highway and purged the coolant. Needless to say I have a nice new freeze plug in its place now.
