Guys,


I have a known problem with the interlocks on a BX24. Probably the PTO.

Can someone please guide me through the process of adjusting that one so the problem goes away? Sure would appreciate it!

Hi Mike, I had the same problem... if the PTO lever wasn't quite all the way up/off, or if I bumped it when getting off the tractor on the left side, the BX would shut down.
Under the left fender, maybe easier to see/get at with the left rear wheel off, there are 2 screws/bolts that hold the micro switch in place... loosen the 2 screws and move the switch as far as you can, then re-tighten screws, so that it takes more movement of the PTO lever to activate the switch.
On my BX, now you gotta move the lever down more that a half inch from top before the engine cuts out.

One question: Is the switch supposed to be depressed (switched on) to complete a circuit to disable the safety interlock? Mine Kubota will not start at all at the present time. All of the prestaging seems to work, but will not crank.


Added: Was able to see the two safety switches on left side behind wheel. Motion of PTO on/off lever is halting as if the linkage needs to be lubricated. Did get the machine to start and charge the battery after the winter off.

What is the best way to lift the tractor (right lift point)? What is best lubricant for the linkage?

Mike, the switch is fully depressed when the PTO lever is all the way up... meaning the PTO is dis-engaged.
On my BX24, the lever goes down probably close to 3/4 inch before the switch plunger is all the way out, and you hear the click.
At that point, she won't crank over.
I wouldn't jack under the transmission housing, I use a floor jack under the frame, just below the lower BH hitch area... off to the left or right depending which wheel I want up.
For lubing, I use an aerosol grease spray that is commonly used for rustproofing cars... mostly because that's what I have on hand, and the grease seems light enough to flow into tight areas, and heavy enough to not drip off.

While you're in there, check all attachment bolts...some of mine were loose, causing intermittent cutout.
