SAFETY TOE BOOTS OR NOT.

Riding on the tractor, what ever I have on. Usually a pair of rubber/leather boots I'm likely to get into something wet and muddy. :p (LL Bean boots last twice as long as any other I tried) Splitting wood, heavy parts, chain sawing... steel tips. :2cents:

I nearly always wear work boots when I'm using the tractor. The current set have steel toes. I always wear steel toe boots when using a chainsaw.

^^agree, just be sure to wear the safe footwear for the job. Take the time to protect the feet, you only get 2.

I always wear work-boots. 'Steel toe' are preferred for obvious, and unanticipated, reasons.

Boots give you ankle support. Climbing up/down from your tractor, at the very least, can lead to a nasty 'twist'.

I wear steel toe insulated work boots all the time 24/7 ...:)

The worst foot injury I ever had was two crushed toes because a rod buster fell on the (supposed) safety steel toe protector in a pair of redwing work boots...! The worst part was getting the "toe protector" off in the ER...!

Keen and steel all the way. Keen makes some light vented steel toe boots very nice for mowing in the heat

Aha, so it's not just me after all. Steel don't bounce back when it gets crushed does it?

Yeah, but I noticed that /pine didn't say that he lost the toes. Only that they were crushed.

Imagine what the toes would've been like without the toe-cap. :scratchchin:

I thought I was the only one that did that!

I wore sneakers once using the chainsaw, not even a day of logging, just cut a few quick trees, and I felt like I was barefoot.

I feel half-barefoot in boots that are uninsulated...

I will skip the steel-toe boots for simple work, but if I am changing implements or moving heavy stuff, steel-toe for sure.
