Its a LOT easier to figure tax mentally in oklahoma, a nice even 10%

Do you think the serial number story could have been a scare tactic to get you to buy from him? What happens if you bought used from out of state and had it serviced in your home state. It seems like the state could easily spend more in tracking than they would have coming in.

Come on now Mike. We're talking state tax here, aren't we? Not exactly sure but I think Oklahoma's state tax is about 4.5%?

Yeah, I know the state tax is 4 something, but in our area they are trying to race for the highest sales tax on earth...

States will sometimes pursue the collection without reference to cost of collection. A friend was once required to pay the State of California $0.28 in back taxes, penalty inculded. He had to take a day off work and attend the auditor's meeting.

MikePA - good reference info. I have always thought that it was a Shakespeare quote. You'd think with the 7 years of high school background I have I would be more precise.
Also I had heard the phrase in a radio interview the other day which is why I jumped on it. They too ref'd to Shakespeare. Xlnt follow-up thanks.
