As for now, I'm going to zero in on sub-compacts or small compacts.

It sounds like you're already prepared to stomache the extra dollars....just don't forget to put some aside for all the attachments you'll want! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif FEL could take care of so many tasks, but how about a blade, or a box blade [level some rough spots], a tiller, a bush hog [for less frequent mowing on really rough stuff].............ah, the list goes on!

Seriously, thanks for the update! And happy shopping! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I guess I should check out attachments and see what they are and will enable me to do!!! That may help firm up my decision a little more. Thanks for following me through this.
At the end will be some pics of what is bought with my better 3/4ths or 4/5ths on top!!

Getting in deeper. Just finished clearing snow off the driveway (100 ft), then a path to the stall (100 ft), then around the stall, then a path to dump manure. Never again!

Can a sub cut or cut handle removing snow? I'm more concerned with it being able to clear a path through a field/lawn. If so, with what attachment? Any recommends.

Thanks

For the size of tractor you're thinking about I can recommend a FEL and a back blade for snow removal. I simply prefer the FEL to a blower because you can use the loader for many other purposes, but the blower is limited to snow removal. Use the back blade for fastest removel of snow then the FEL for piling and "close quarters." Be careful to remember you have the back blade behind you though /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif...

No pictures yet! Things got complicated. Lotta dying going on (happens more when you get older) and $$ needed elsewhere. We're gonna kill the Simplicity this season and buy an SCUT next winter (unless my better 3/4's gets tired of falling off horses).
Thanks again for all your advice.
