You will need to tie them to one pressure switch or one will always come on first and unless the pressure continues to drop, the second compressor will never come on.

Please take another few factors into account.

What are you blasting off? Mil scale or light rust? Heavy pitted steel? Paint?

With paint, what type of paint? Is it lead based? What is the thickness?

All of these factors come into play in terms of safety, equipment selection, and abrasive selection.

Can you tell I do this for a living?

And you wanted to be a Sandblaster Sunspot? Who would have guessed something that sounded so easy would lead to such a wealth of information?
So true but Learning by reading is better than learning by peeing on an electric fence, as FWJ is fond of saying.

Jeff Is this the kind of attachment you were talking about for a pressure washer. It got good reviews reviews on Northern tool's website.

It does have some good reviews.
I could stand to buy a pressure washer but I could also use a nice compressor for shop use.

I'll post a picture later. I doubt I have any lead based paint. The paint is not thick. Not heavy pitting, I would say medium/light on most of it.
Thanks for clarifying the question.

Western, I have no desire to have that big of a setup. I can see you paid your dues to get to where you are.
Quote. All compressors collect moisture
So true. I remember draining a shop unit years ago. The stuff that came out with the water was nasty.

I hope I have time to come back to TBN tomorrow. I have a busted water main to fix and a new disc harrow is being delivered tomorrow.

Just remember folks there is a difference between commercial and home owner type operations. One has to use reason/economics to decide which will suit his needs.:D :D :D

There are other extremes one could aspire to such as the one I had available while working. Lets just say 50 Hp electric motor screw type compressor with all the drying trimmings you would want.:D

Thank you Egon. Some of the stuff is overwhelming. I am a homeowner.
Here is some rust pictures of my front stairs. It looks worse in the pictures. If I jobbed this out, what do you fine people think the cost may be. Don't be shy, I can take it.

Ok, some rust can be reasonably fixed and some cannot, example of the first point is picture #4, example of the last point is picture #3. When the corrosion comes out of a seam were 2 pieces are joined together it is an example of a poor design, or poor execution of a design in construction, or both. one thing is for certain there is nothing you can do from the outside that will fix a problem like that. The corrosion between the 2 layers will continue until they disintegrate, once this point is reached.
Since the demise of this stair is eminent, I would clean up the rust with a large and a small grinder equipped with wire wheels and brush paint it with rustoleum.
I have had enough experience at this to tell you the patient is going to require much more than a paint job, to have a chance of long term survival. Therefore I would not advise spending a lot of money trying to save it, unless you are going to just about rebuild it.
