question for you smart guys on my sander the motor pulley is 3.5 " dia if I go larger will that slow it down or go faster ??? thanks

Increasing the motor pulley diameter will make the belt run faster, but it will reduce the torque going to it so it will be easier to bog it down if you lean into it.
