Satoh Bull S-630D
hello,

Not that it matters now I guess but I recently purchased this unit with all attachments shown along with a 16ft trailer for 8k.

I do not know much about tractors but we have 18ish acres that will need to be maintained and I did not want to keep paying $600 annually for bush hogging. I also wanted 4x4 as our property can get quite muddy sometimes.

Unit has 1200 hours on it and seems to be fine and to my knowledge everything works. Wanted to ask if you thought I did alright price wise for the package? I did not want to incur debt for a tractor. Any advice for these units that I should know? Tires in rear seem to have some dry rot on side walls but I’m hoping I can keep using them for the rest of the year.

Thanks.

You paid more than I would have but the market in your area might be different than mine. I think you could gotten low or zero interest in a months or two on something new.

Considering that a 16' trailer would cost around $4K, you did ok. Those grey market tractors seem to last as long as they aren't abused. Congrats!

Thanks. I was pretty happy about it...Been looking at these "compact" tractors for well over a year but as a novice I wasnt really sure what I might be getting myself into. I looked at some Interest free loans for kubota, bobcat, branson, exc but at the end of the deal I still would have ended up spending 20k without even having a bush hog or trailer in the deal before taxes...None of my vehicles cost even half that and to spend that on a tractor in this stage of life just seemed nuts to my wife and I. Anyways, thanks for your replies. I know I did not steal the thing but I would argue I got a decent price considering how expensive stuff is right now. Hope it lasts

I think you did okay with your deal. The biggest problem with older gray market tractors is scoring parts. Most are commonly available but some are not. You can get some help from Valley Power. I've also found some new parts on eBay. I had a Mitsubishi D2350.

Grey market tractors can be a huge PIA for manuals and parts availability. Also, no one will want to work on it due to it being different. You need to be handy and get the manual ready now.

His model is not a Gray Market Mitsubishi-Satoh, it's a US import domestic model. All his manuals will be in English too.

There is no more help from Valley Power, they are closing. Bill already passed away on the 8th of the month.
