Pretty heavy, however, to use very long in your hands, (unless you're a really big boy).

But, if you are going to be holding the saw, I have read that the Stihl 660 vibrates your hands quite a bit more than the Husky.

Thanks Arky .
I've been told that the 660 vibrates a bit by others as well .
I'm still torn between it and the 390 XP . The 395 is kind of third ,as it has the outboard clutch which I really don't like very much . My Wifes 346 has that clutch arrangement, and I just find it odd to work with .
The 390 might be My best bet as it is relatively light ,and makes decent power .
The only way I'll no is to get off my duff and visit a few saw shops :)

Nixon,
I see we share the love of chainsaws and the addiction of buying more that we do not need.
I showed my wife this thread to prove that someone probably has it worse than me.:D Thank you.
My wife also made fun of me because you refered to the 346 as your wifes saw. I use the 346 more than any of them because it helps with the tendonitis.

I hope Your wife didn't think that I was insinuating that the 346 is a ladies saw . It definitely isn't ! It's just that it's HER SAW . I'm allowed the privilege of maintaining, and servicing it !

I gotta get my little 024 project going again. Got it tore down, but needed bearing and cylinder funds for something else.

Robert N .... You don't by chance frequent AS do You ?
I was toying with doing that to My 044 .

Nothing like squeezing the trigger of the 660 and watching the tip of the saw jump up! That saw is awesome! Never used a big Husqvarna.

I'm just under your requirements with a 385XP with 32" bar, and I absolutely love it. Great workout when you cut all day with it......

I'd stay away from the outboard clutch too. Stihl baffled why Husky is producing this setup, so antiquated. As far as either the 390xp or ms660 can't go wrong with either one. It comes down to personal preference and $. You can probably pick up the 390 a bit cheaper, Stihl sticks fairly tight to that MSRP thing. I've never minded the vibes on the 660 and never really liked the "loose" feeling of spring AV isolators on big cubed saws as much, but that's purely a personal thing. I know many that feel just the opposite.

You need to run both and see which you prefer, my .02. (from another AS'er)

Thanks for Your thoughts ! The 390 is looking like it may be the winner here .
The Stihl dealer ,whom I don't really care for , won't budge a cent .
The Husqvarna dealer is pricing out the 390 in the mid $900 range . That ,and when I walk in says " Hey john , what do You need today ? "
Aw heck , who am I kidding , the 390 will win . It's down to the dealer .

I completely understand that. I don't require a dealer that actually services my saws, I do all that myself, but do gravitate towards the traditional "saw shop"....guys that know saws, have the common parts is stock (for the most part), are willing to help me out of a jamb and knowing my name when I come in the door.......well that pretty much buys my loyalty. ;)

I'm sure you'll be happy with the 390, good luck and happy cutting.

Thank You Sir . I brought the 390 home this afternoon . Got it for a fair bit under MSRP even after State sales tax . She seems to be fairly beastly even though it's set a bit rich for break in . The one thing that has surprised Me so far is that it's got a fairly active chain oiler .
I had to turn it down to the minimum setting as it was pumping oil every where otherwise .
