Saying goodbye to an old friend

Well, I sold my B8200HST yesterday. The new owner is picking it up tomorrow afternoon! Its been one heck of a tractor, but the new B2710 sure softens the blow! At least I got to use it one last time here at my antique shop to cut the grass. Got a good price for it, now to find a cheap cab for the B2710 for the winter. (one last photo of the old chum)

There's a tear in my eye, since I love my B8200...

You could still change your mind... There's nothing wrong with starting a collection! I have my B8200hst, and Farmall "A". I'd really like to add a Farmall Cub in the future, and maybe an Allis "G" or "B" some day. You could have a B2710, Zamboni, B8200HST... Heck you'd be well on your way to a great collection!

Thanks for the kind offer! I can't save everything, I just don't have that much room in the barn as it is. I can only drive one at a time anyway, so I figured it might as well be the B2710. Besides I need the 12K from the sale of the B8200 to help pay for the B2710!

I don't know but the old one looks very good to me. I sold my small Kubota when I got my 2710 and now I kind of regret it as I put a Curtis Cab on, now I can not cut the grass under the apple trees or clothes line. But the cab with the heater was a god sent this last winter up here in minnesota. I got the cab and instlled it my self with no problems. It's just a little scarey drilling into a new tractor. From last fall I have put on 140 hours on the new now slightly used 2710. Have fun, I didn't know work could be this much fun.

Well the tractor is gone, and the new owner was so anxious to start cutting the grass that he forgot to add fuel. You guessed it, he ran out. Called up and wanted to know why it would not start after adding more fuel. Told him about bleeding the fuel system. I think he kind of feels a little dumb after I told him what to do. I stated that it was all in the owners manual, and that he should read it first before running the tractor. Plus it is raining really hard out. I guess when you are excited the rain doesn't bother you! Good thing he paid with a bank check!

I know the feeling. I was planning on selling my B7100 to help finance the new B2910...or...even better idea...fund the addition of a backhoe. I just couldn't bring myself to it. It was my first tractor and does not owe me a thing after 18 years of faithful service. Soooo.... I "gave" to my wife! I feel much better about the decision. I'll do without the backhoe (another sacrifice /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) for awhile, anyhow. My grandson has taken a liking to the B7100. I think it's more his size. He just likes to sit on it and honk the horn...a feature that is missing on my 2910. Should be some nice team tractoring in the future....photo attached. Glad you have the photos and the memories.

Bill nice picture the grand kid they are great when mine is over he still wants to know why I did not keep the other tractor for him as he would be such a great help to me if he had his own tractor. And this one is only five. The nice thing about grand kids is you can spoil the heck out of them and know that Sunday afternoon they are gone.
