Schaeffer & kendall oil products

I manage a distributorship that markets Kendall products - the 15w40 with Liquid Titanium is an outstanding product.

Also sell a lot of the Schaeffer products - again, a very high end product.

Either product will perform very well, you won't go wrong with whichever you choose.

I run a mix in my B2920- full synthetic Delvac 1 for the engine oil, ConocoPhillips Lo-Vis Powertran in the hydraulics, and ConocoPhillips Dynalife HT2 for the grease. OH- and a Schaeffer 137 fuel additive year round!

My gawd! Liquid titanium? Too funny!

Check the product literature - suspended in the oil at the molecular level. Claims are that it bonds to the metal parts in the engine, providing an additional layer against wear. I don't write it, but I do sell it - I can see if I can get my hands on some actual test data, but there is likely some on the Kendall web site.

Here is some of the test data: Liquid Titanium Supreme 7000

Improved Cam Lobe Wear Protection 15% 30%
by CJ-4 standard Cummins CES 20081
more stringent test

Reduced Cam Lobe Wear in Sequence IVA 45% 85%
This is a API-SM test for gas engines

Reduced Bearing Weight Loss in Sequence VIII 9% 65%

None of the information I could find on Kendall addressed soot dispersant. UOA's will show increased soot levels as its chemistry for handling high levels of soot are simply inferior. Unless you perform UOA's you will never know.

It's not that its a bad product. The numbers are percentage of improvement over minimum standards. Like the old saying, change it often enough and you'll never have a problem. It not the cost to buy, it's the cost to use.

Titanium is an element with a melting point of 3034 degrees F. You don't get liquid titanium until you hit that temperature and above.

As far as checking their product literature, why would I believe anything they say after they claim to have liquid titanium at room temperature? If they had said a proprietary titanium compound, I would have been more inclined to believe them...but that's NOT what they said. It reeks too much of their sales department making claims that have no basis in the real physical world just for the purpose of sucking in the gullible who always buy the latest variety of snakeoil to hit the market.

I don't need luck, coobie, because I use Texas Refinery Corporation oil....and my vehicles don't "burn" oil.

Touche' - Probably just a pretty slick little marketing trick; you obviously won't fall for it. I would imagine though, that the pretty smart guys from legal wouldn't let the guys from marketing make claims that the even smarter guys in engineering could not substantiate. Probably get sued by too many "gullible" people who were inadvertently"sucked in" to using an inferior product and having engine failures. At the end of the day, I have never witnessed an engine failure caused by the engine oil; the only BAD oil is the oil that does not get changed, plain and simple. You use your favorite snake oil and I'll use mine.

Qestion who is the oldest refiner in the USA, hint it isn't Kendall. We started useing Sheaffer in race cars, noticed 20 to 50 degrees drop in oil temp. We now use it in everything we own, wifes Cadillac to motorhome to N/H tractor and my Jeep. Best oil I have ever used. I tried it in my Jeep first it ran smoother and cooler. You could feel the difference.

+1 on Schaeffer. I got turned onto them for their grease. Found out their products are second to none. I have been running Schaeffer grease (238 #2, iirc), their diesel treat 2000, and Supreme 7000 diesel oil (in pickup and tractor) for two years. All are great.

They don't publicly hype their company but if you do the research you will find they are the real deal. The key with Schaeffer is finding a reasonable sales rep. I got my last two year supply at a good price with free shipping.
