There are several differences between the two tractors, some larger than others.
Position control 3pt is one difference. This is worth half of the cost if you are planning to use your 3pt hitch for tasks frequently.
Pinned 3pt sway bars versus turnbuckles is another excellent difference and again is critically important if you are frequently hooking and unhooking from 3pt implements.
Extendable lift arms versus rigid is again another excellent difference and again is critical if using your 3pt a lot.
Mid PTO is only critical if you plan to use the tractor with a MMM or a front mounted PTO device. If you have no plans to do that, it becomes less important of course.
The independent PTO of the 3030 is not as important but it allows you to engage the PTO without bringing the tractor to a standstill. With the 7800 you will have to push in the clutch which will bring the tractor to a stop, prior to engaging the PTO. You can then engage the clutch which will start the implement spinning, then step on the HSD pedal for tractor movement.
Tilt steering wheel is important if you have more than one operator. My wife and I both will operate our B2910. She is 5'2" and I am 5'10". We definitely use the tilt wheel along with the telescoping feature that was available on our tractor.
This cost difference is only 11% of the total cost. Very small difference to me. Would you forgo AC, cloth seats, cruise control, power windows and stereo on your next car to save 11%???
