your sig = Dolmar 6400 84cc ported

I just caught that the dolmar 84cc BB 8400/6400 was woods ported. Man I would hope you beat a stock 660 99% of the time. Only time to lose would be a thrown chain :p. Heck a stock 7900 79cc is impressive JMO ;).

I only have two or three tankful's through the BB kit so it may not even be fully broke in yet. And I currently have it set at a modest 12,800-13000 RPM until I get a few more tanks through it.

And yes, its ported, but it is more like just polished/cleaned up. It was the NWP kit from baileys and honestly, there wasnt much room for improvement. I couldnt go much wider at all due to piston skirt width. The only think I didnt like was the squish was a lousy .038 even with no base gasket. But even at that, it pulled 160psi before I even fired it up:thumbsup:

The bad thing is, when I ordered this BB kit, my buddy that has the 660 had me order him a BB kit also. He just hasnt put it on yet. When he does, I'd expect him (with 98cc's) to be able to out-cut me 99% of the time:confused2:

The new generation 4th or up BB 066 are runners straight from the box. At least the one I ran bolted on a 064 did. The more gear I gave it the faster she would go and still pull good. I think I stopped at a 10T or 11T testing in small wood 8x8 cant for fun.

Thats not really what I wanted to hear:D

My 8400kit and his 066 kit are BOTH 4th gen kits. So whenever he gets around to installing it, I am going to have to quit racing him:D

Make sure he runs a dual port 660 muffler cover or at least open his stock exhaust outlet all the way up like the old 066 used to be and then maybe open the stock cover up too with a deflector to work like a DP cover.

He's probabally going to have me install it for him when he is ready.

I am sure I can work some magic on it:thumbsup:

A little porting/polishing here and there, no base gasket if squish allows, open up muffler, etc.

@ 98cc's, when I am done, I am not sure an 088 or 3120 husky could run with it in under 30" wood:D

Anything is possible. Stock bore 066 with my best chain.

I never get to do anything like that. Best we do is drag a log home and use a stop watch. But the log is never the same size everytime and we never video it either.

BTW, is that pine, or another softwood:D Cause that sure cant be a hardwood.

Last time we had the saws out and the stopwatch, we were cutting ~14" rounds. Dead adn dry ash. Unfortunatally, I didnt have the 84cc kit on at the time. Only the 6400. But, the results

116si FULL port but semi-chisel lo-pro chain..........9 second flat average
120si & 6400's Full chisel (120 mild port job)..........8 second flat average
372xp light port work full chisel...........................7 second flat average
7900 bone stock full chisel.................................6.5 second average

The most impressive by far is the 116si, coming in @ only 60cc's, and being 17 years old, I'd put it up against ANY 60cc saw today. It was running junk chain too. I cant imagine a good chain on it:D

ANd I can say that the new 8400 IS quicker than the 7900. But not by much right now. Again, I still have it a bit rich until a few more tanks full. But just a guess, it probabally would have been about 6 seconds in the above wood.

That was 8x8 aspen. Used to get accurate timing of gains made. Also used 8x8 10x10 yellow poplar. aspen was a lot cheaper that year lbf. ;)

Oh the 066 084 cut good in big logs too.

Pics of 084 at past gtg's. The 084 wears a 50" ripping hardwoods for a living.
